Our Programs > Teacher Resource Grants

Teachers — committed to the education of their students and in the best position to know what is needed — come up with good ideas all the time, but don't have the resources to fund them or the time to pursue arduous funding requirements. That's why we launched Teacher Resource Grants (more than 6,800 teachers have received them to date).

Teachers fax their one-page requests to PVF and receive a response within 48 hours. These grants can be used for classroom materials, projects, and field trips — so the third grade teacher at Stonegate School in San Jose could offer her students an outdoor learning experience:

“The Science Grant has benefited us greatly by providing the field experience that our low-economic students need to fully appreciate our unit on the ecosystems of Santa Clara Valley. In this age when teachers have received such poor press, it was uplifting that you trusted our professional judgment on the importance of this worthwhile experience for children. The classroom learning came alive,” says Nancy Matthews.

For the 2008-2009 school year, PVF's Teacher Resource Grants are focusing on enhancing conservation science, arts and special education projects.
