Who: Doctor presentations, on the classroom level, are available to public school teachers grades 5-12 in San Mateo County.
What: A classroom presentation by a medical doctor.
The program goals are:
- To provide students with the opportunity to explore medicine
- To expose students to doctors and how to become a doctor
- To inspire students to learn about and adopt healthy behaviors
The participating doctors are from the local community and are from a variety of disciplines. The presentations will be open for questions from the students. This is an opportunity for young people to learn more about health and doctors and hopefully this will fit in with the classroom's health curriculum.
How: To apply for the program teachers only need to fax or email a request on school letterhead with the following information:
- Date and "Doctor in the Classroom" notation
- School and district name, address, telephone and fax number
- Your name, grade level and email address
- Your preference for dates and times for presentations. Give three alternatives.
- Applications must be signed by both the submitting teacher and the school principal

"Dr. Trinkner's message to us was that going to school and doing well can help us achieve what we want to do when we grow up."
"I want to work in the medical field and Dr. Trinkner's advice could really help me along the way."
"I learned that if you follow your dreams, you can accomplish them. Dr. Trinkner has taught me that anything is possible."
